Inspiration

I've been truly blessed in my life! I have a beautiful wife, two beautiful daughters, and a job that I love. My couples are why I love being a wedding photographer. They inspire me and their passion gives me the inspiration to tell their unique story.

Giving back

PHILANTHROPY

Giving back the city that has given me so much!  San Diego has been home since I was born.  I love this city with all my heart and it's been one of my greatest pleasures to give back to it.  Working with amazing groups like Susan G. Komen, the make a wish foundation, and the Oceans foundation.

I'm Wally Wilson and this is my family.  I'm a born and raised San Diego wedding photographer and I'll never leave this beautiful city.  I started my company 10 years ago after finishing photo school. After 400+ weddings later, I have never looked back.

I love my growing family, gardening, traveling, and wine tasting.  I'm passionate about what I do and have never considered being a photographer work.

Q: Do you have a particular style?

A: I do. I describe my style in one sentence: “I am a photojournalist who masterfully combines candid images to create elegant portraits.” I believe that real moments are the best, and the more organic your photos are, the better.

Q: What are some of your favorite wedding venues in San Diego?

A: This is a tough one! San Diego has so many beautiful places for weddings. Some of my favorites are the US Grant, Rancho Valencia Resort, the Mission Bay Hilton Resort, La Valencia Hotel and Aviara Park Hyatt.

Q: What do you like best about being a wedding photographer?

A: My couples, hands down! I truly work with some of the best couples in San Diego. It’s so awesome because I’m part of this momentous day in their lives and my photos will be shared and passed down from generation to generation. It’s a humbling feeling.

Q: How did you get into wedding photography?

A: My first year in photography school I aspired to be the modern-day Ansel Adams. During my second year, however, I fell in love with a local photographer’s work. It was so edgy and candid. His name is Bil Zelman and at the time he was still shooting very HIGH END weddings (now he only shoots commercial work). For months I begged him for an internship, and after about six months of relentlessly showing up at his studio, he finally took me on. I worked my butt off for him, and in the process learned how to photograph weddings from one of the best wedding photographers of our time. The rest is history, and Bil and I are great friends to this daySubheading

Q: What’s the coolest place you ever photographed a wedding?

A: You keep hitting me with these hard questions! I’ve photographed some epic destination weddings over the years. A few that stand out are Tulum Mexico, Breckenridge Colorado, and Kennebunkport, Maine. All amazing places, and really great couples
